played soccer yesterday, got studded in the knee, had random kindye failure, scored my first of the season, and we won 5 or 6 nil
go team
today we played the team coming first, they scored first off a penalty, then again, and then we scored one back. sucks we couldnt get another one in, but we totally dominated the ball
once again, go team!

if i know myself, i probably wont out of sheer lazyness or my ability to only think of three topics.. but ill try
1. Photography
a major passion of mine. i love photography but suck epically at it. i have many a camera with the hope one day i might be able to use them to some effect. it keeps me sane, gives me an excuse to wander strange backstreets in dodgy suburbs, it also give me an excuse to stare blankly at a wall for a while without looking wierd :)
i alos love other peoples photography, i can stare all day at images... if they're captured well, it amazing what you can see in jsut one image.. ok getting rambly.. gonna stop now...
2. The work of Sylvia Plath
i first read 'the bell jar' when i was 15 or so, a borrowed copy form marlene who borrowed it from helen even though she had no intention of reading it at the time. i thought it was tres awesome! her writing style, and what she wrote about.. id never read anything so great! (coming from years as a kid reading goosebumps and animoprhs as fast as my library could buy them) it rekindled the strong love i had for reading when i was a kid.
3. Musical/real-life moments™
arran knows what im talking about here, these are moments where the music your listening to provides the most perfect soundtrack to whats going on for real. ... doesnt make sense? ok here are some real examples (these moments are best when they occur perfectly timed, while your mp3 player is on shuffle, as demonstrated by my frist example)
one random stroll around The Rocks and surrounding area, i saw a big set of stairs and decided to climb up them. my mp3 player currently playing "have to drive". as i reach the top of th stairs, i have small moennt of triumph then realise why i feel so greta. the song has just reached the bit where (as jthm says) 'the chorus swells" it was awesome. i spent the next half hour smiling to myself about that moment
other times, not so perect timing, but jsut as wonderful such as listening to kaki king's 'sad american' while walking through ashfield at 630am on an overcast day (arran has done this in the city with much the same awesome effect)
or lsitening to 'happiness in slavery' while on a peak hour train jsut seems so fitting sometimes...
4. Moleskins
i love notebooks and would always buy sme wih no intention of writing in them.. moleskins are ever so pretty, ever so handy, ever so 'im trying to be a tool from glebe/newtown' ... but without the tool-ness.... perfect size, wonderufly coloured paper, rounded pages!!! makes me feel adequate in my geekyness while i wander the backstreets as mentioned in '1' with my moleskin tucked in my pocket and moleskin diary in my bag...
5. Music videos
i love well made music videos. makes the song even better. or soemtimes make the song seem like a different song entirely. two awesome pieces of creativity for my ear/eye pleasure. i have been known to get obsessed with certain videos.

i caught the train with arran this Am ... yay!!!!
first day of orientation/learning block/ boringness was ok. the lectures were quite intersting although they all seem to expect a level of knowledge none of us posses. so much of the time i spent wirting little "notes to self" about further reading (on wiki) that should -but most likely will never - be done. i do find their supreme lack of imagination and originality amusing (the password to sing on to the discussion boards is "sigmund")
the law ethics lecture started off with boringness of doom till we got to leanring a bit about Dr. Walter Freeman. many a LOL was had by me, particuarly at peopels reactions to the lobotomy picture seen here : http://www.damninteresting.com/?p=199 and to the descriptions of the lobotomy process ("Dr. Freeman's transorbital lobotomy procedure was literally an ice pick hammered through the back of each eye socket into the brain then wiggled in a stirring motion, often taking just a few minutes under local anesthesia")
all in all a good day, except for breaks where i was bored and by my lonesome.

wats been happening recently. ADD recount -im poor
- kelly's brithday on friday. much insanity, tragic game of pool tween me parker JD and darren... Me and JD won! woot! (and there were two chicks fighitn outside in the parking lot.... LOL! a chunk of hair was removed form on girls scalp... many LOLz)
- post birthday gaerthing at kim's.. where i butchered "heart shaped box' on guitar hero, got attacked by a lamp and admired kims ability to make french toast while drunk
- still poor
- watched Sydney FC..they sucked... but i was with wifeus and danus and... brendan(?) twas good. and saw carla. syd 1 perth 4 (and sydney scored 3 goals! who scores two own goals in the same game? and misses two right in front of the goal? honestly!)
- bondi shops... *dead*
- cogee beach with kell, parker and kim (on a romantic photo mission for Kim's gf) admired Kell's ability to drive manual while eating a kebab and steering with her knees... on the M5....... got stung by a bluebottle that was washed up on shore.... dared kim and kel to stand on this rock thing.. watched them freak out when each wave came. kel got soaked
- wrapped xmas presents for brothers and olds.

who thought sydney would get ALL FUCKING THREE!!! (along with NIN but im not going.... festivals suck... even more douche bags to deal with than at a normal gig)
... yesterday Kim (one of Kelly's friends i pretty much jsut met 3 hours prior) gave me her copy of The Rise and Times of The Dresden Dolls dvd... electronic press kit... vids im sure youve all seen.. she got it at the Annandale gig i couldnt go to cos i wasnt 18.... she was awesomes. and encourgaed me to come over and drink her booze anytimes. yay!
a very random gathering at her house where we consumed her alcohol, tragically played Guitar Hero (never has Nirvana been butchered as much as it was by me), she made us french toast, we discussed the outright awesomeness of Kaki King and i was attacked by her lamp... im not making sense... im tired.. maybe tomorrow ill post something that makes sense...

so.. here i am, recovering from todays heat where i melted into a giant puddle... im going to name it "punky ocean" good things and bad things to recount: the bad: for some reason, ive lost all my kmfdm...i dont know how or where... but its all gone... so im currently sad... no Hau Ruck.. no Tohuvabohu...i only have uroburos to confuse me with pronunciation!! i need my tohuvabohu confusion! (even though i can now pronounce it) the good:
i was watching an episode of xena after work last night.. man you guys all wouldve loved it.. i know i did :) this episode had everything...
LOLing at religion (mind u, not the first episode to do it, thers been a bit of "LOL christianity"), attempted child sacrifice, pillow stabbing, pretty-boy men with bad hair. the lines "go ahead, climb up my body" "now what?" "now for the fun part" (even in context, it was hard not to take it the wrong way) drug use (the dialogue from this was fucking brilliant!!!), overloaded subtext, nekkidness, "trout slapping" (LOL), a decent dose of whoop-ass (butt kicking of doomy dooom!), really really bad CGI (no really, its like they combined the background with the image on MS Paint) in other news, i have my work christmas party on mondays... we LOL at this at work, seeming as therre is a total staff of five (on a good day)
monday shall be good fun.. xena day followed by free food! :) yay!
